RadPharm Chief Medical Officer Co-authors Multiple Articles on New RECIST 1.1 Criteria
Special Issue of European Journal of Cancer (EJC)

Princeton, NJ – February 23, 2009. RadPharm Inc, a leading global provider of centralized medical imaging review services to biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device organizations is pleased to announce that their Founder and Chief Medical Officer, Robert Ford, M.D, is a contributing author to five articles which were included in the special RECIST 1.1 issue of the European Journal of Cancer.

In this special issue, Dr. Ford, a member of the RECIST Working Group, contributed to several papers, including the lead article entitled, "New response evaluation criteria in solid tumors: Revised RECIST guideline (version 1.1)". This article highlights the data driven changes that were made to the original RECIST criteria, (published in 2000), due to questions and issues that have arisen from investigators, industry and government authorities. Additional papers found in this issue further support, with evidentiary data, the development of RECIST 1.1, the revised assessment guidelines.

In addition to the revised criteria, Dr. Ford is the lead author of the article entitled "Lessons learned from independent central review".

  • Recommendations for the assessment of progression in randomised cancer treatment trials
  • Individual patient data analysis to assess modifications to the RECIST criteria
  • Evaluation of lymph nodes with RECIST 1.1
